V.I.P. to host Low Vision Awareness Day
The Visually Impaired People Organization, INC of Selma, Alabama will host a low vision awareness day on June 8, 2018 at the Dallas County Health Department in the community room. The health department is located at 100 Samuel O Moseley drive in Selma.
The purpose of the event will bring low vision technology vendors and host consumers who need the technology, together under one roof.
The event is free and is open to the public. The visually impaired and their care givers are encourage to come. The event will start at 10:30am until 2pm.
At the event you will see low vision magnifiers and computers that have large print. As well as, video magnifiers. Talking products will also be demo. Catalogs will be given out. No obligation to buy anything.
Also, the auto mark voting machine will be demonstrated and lessons on how to use it will also be given free to encourage the visually impaired to use it to vote on during the upcoming election. So they can vote independently.
Main Street Urgent Care will be on hand with Dr. Wags to entertain to talk about their services. Golden ranch Bar-B-Q and Grill will give you a 15% discount when you show up with your low vision awareness day program. They are located on US Highway 80 West.
V.I.P. is a 501c3, tax exempt, non-profit organization dedicated to providing low vision community education, mentoring and support, information and referrals and recreation to people that are visually impaired and blind and to their care givers of Alabama.
