Glaucoma Eye Screenings held in Selma

V.I.P. and Primary Eye Care Center in Selma , Alabama held its first Glaucoma eye screening this day . We served 12 individuals and found that half had or was on the border line of having the leading cause of blindness.

The tow hour screening had to be extended for an additional hour because folks kept coming in. We discovered they needed treatment for glaucoma. Some had not seen an eye doctor before and needed to have one.

Insurance for vision care seems to be a problem in the Black Belt as many of these individuals did not have it and had to find ways to pay for their treatments and eye drops.

Vision care is a must for the elderly and for children needing assistance with treatments and glasses. Affordable health insurance is a must for people on fixed incomes and folks who do not qualify for Medicade or for Medicare.

Thanks to Dr. Kristina Lovinggood and staff for treating these individuals with class with their kind heart for saving their sight. Their great service for free might have just saved their sight. Their professionalism might have just gained them some new patients.

V.I.P. provides free consultations on low vision ad referrals to eye doctors. If you have any questions about eye care give us a call at 334-354-4015. Leave message and your call will be returned
