Acquired Monocular Blindness: Low Vision or Not?

This presentation will discuss acquired monocular blindness in the context of low vision rehabilitation. Various aspects associated with monocular blindness will be addressed with a specific emphasis on functional deficits experienced by these patients. A brief review of the literature on this topic will be provided.

The occupational lives of individuals with visual impairment reveal adaptation to a world clearly processed through vision. Through a collective case study, the researcher collected and analyzed data on the occupational lives of three individuals with visual impairment.

Vision Impairment, Its Effect on Social Skills and Social Behavior: What Parents Say. Carolyn Palmer, PhD.
This presentation examines the perceptions of parents of young people with vision impairment regarding their children’s social skills and social behavior. Parents completed a social skills survey of 20 questions which required them to report how their children interact with others, cooperate with and support peers, disrupt groups, and lead, mix with, or are rejected by peers.
